And as I’m writing this, it’s only 74 days to go before the FIFA Soccer World Cup Finals kicks off – watch this space to see how we’ll be celebrating this momentous event with you!

Our Wine and Dine evenings continue to please the most discerning of palates with a combination of fine cuisine and inspiring wines from across the various wine-growing regions of the country.

NH The Lord Charles Charity Ball
It’s almost time again for the NH The Lord Charles Charity Ball. This annual event has become a highlight on our calendar, and the generous support of our sponsors and guests have assured that it has been a resounding success since its inception in 2005, raising hundreds of thousands of rands for the local charity organisations Imibala and ECHO.

The A-Team
You might not get to meet the NH Sales Team face-to-face when you visit our properties, but these guys and gals work tirelessly and with great enthusiasm to market our great hotels both locally and internationally to clinch the deals that ensure that we remain market leaders – which means that we can continue to offer the levels of excellence that you have come to expect from NH in both our facilities and our service.
Some of these faces have been around for a while, and others have recently joined the ranks...

- Jaco du Plooy (Sales Executive – Corporate). With 3 years on the team, Jaco is something of a veteran – but his enthusiasm and charm never falters!
- Cheryl Schmidt (Sales Executive – Corporate). Cheryl is based in Johannesburg as an independent representative, and has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team over the past 2 years.
- Vernon Hearne (Sales Executive – Corporate). Vernon is a new addition to the Sales Team, but not to NH The Lord Charles Hotel... He’s been in our Groups & Conventions department as co-ordinator for 2 years, and is ready to take on this exciting new challenge!

- Marchelaine Uys (Sales Administrator).Marchelaine with 20years of service, has been with NH The Lord Charles Hotel since the opening! Knowing the property inside and out, she’s risen steadily through the ranks, and is now fondly referred to as the "glue" that holds the Sales Team together!
- Chantel Viljoen (Sales Executive – Leisure). A dynamic lady, Chantel’s knowledge and professionalism will bring added value to NH!
- Angela Jacobson (Sales & Marketing Manager). Angela has been heading up the team for almost 4 years now, and is delighted with what’s been achieved thus far. But, says Angela, with a dynamic team like this, "the sky is the limit!"
NH News
The NH Sales Team recently attended Meetings Africa – Africa’s top business tourism exhibition – at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
This year’s event took place from 24 to 26 February, and once again showcased products from across the region’s meeting, incentives and events industries at a “one-stop shop” for conference organisers, meeting planners, corporate travel agents, DMS’s and International and National Hosted Buyers alike.
Our Team had a very successful show and made some great new contacts – with not a single no-show at our appointments! They were also pleased to introduce NH’s South African properties to International Buyers who hadn’t realised that NH also had a presence in this country.
